On what drivers declared the best racing surface of the season at Canaan Dirt Speedway, the racing was at its absolute best on R.E. Hinkley Oil Company night. Winners included Chris Chambers, Jason Giguere, Josh Sunn, Matt Boucher, William Lussier and Luke Greenwood.
The Papa Z’s Modifieds were out in force on Friday night as seventeen Mods took the green flag. The caution waved before the first lap was completed, thus a complete restart was called. When the green flag waved again, the field sorted themselves out nicely as rookie driver Chris Chambers battled his way into the lead on lap eleven. Chambers opened up a solid lead while Dave Sanville, Jim Lowrey Jr., and Allen Hammond exchanged spots for the next five laps before the second and final caution flew for a Jason Sanville spin in turn two on lap sixteen. Chambers got the jump and never looked back as the rookie driver raced to his first career modified win. Jim Lowrey Jr. raced home second ahead of David Sanville, Dan Eastman and Allan Hammond. Lowrey, Hammond and Jason Sanville each won a qualifying event.
Jason Giguere made a bold move on newcomer Ray Johnson in the Beard Sewer and Drain Super Street feature and rolled to victory. With three laps to go Giguere blasted by an unsuspecting Johnson for the win. Todd Buckwold, Troy Comeau and Robbie Williams completed the top five. Ryan Christian won the qualifying round.
Josh Sunn easily defeated a lean field of NAPA Mini Stocks. Leon Dugan, Zac Lamott and JP Vaillancourt chased him to the stripe. Sunn also won the heat race.
Matt Boucher raced from the back of the pack after being caught up in an early race caution to claim the win in the Bond Auto Parts Bandit main event. JP Vaillancourt, Armand Boucher, Dallas Hammond and point leader, Leon Dugan completed the top five.
Matt Boucher also won the preliminary round.
William Lussier won the Q106, 500 C.C. Mini Sprint main over Joshua Boissoneau, Mike Bubnis, Lacey Hanson and Larry Sheridan. The Q106 600 C.C. Mini Sprint feature win went to Luke Greenwood. Richard Crooker, Matt Robiz, Jacob Williams and Justin Eldredge completed the top five.
